JUMPers,

For quite a while now I've been working on a query
engine/system/language for doing processing on spatial datasets. It's
called JEQL, and there's some information about it here:
http://tsusiatsoftware.net/jeql/main.html

For almost as long I've had the goal of creating an OpenJUMP extension
which would expose the power of JEQL inside OJ. The idea would be that
users could write JEQL queries to create new datasets from existing
ones, or even execute entire JEQL scripts inside JUMP (for instance, to
do things like read and write file formats, or do coordinate system
tranformations)

I haven't got very far with creating this extension, so I'm wondering if
there is an OJ developer who would like to collaborate on making this
happen? I see this as being a benefit to both OJ and JEQL, by providing
some very powerful capabilities to OJ, and by helping JEQL to become
fully embeddable in a Java system.

If you're interested, contact me and I'll provide more details of the
how the integration would work, and some ideas for what the UI should be
able to do.
