Hi all,
I
agree with Michaël: probabily Stefan took the majority (an maybe all)
part of the job to handle the migration to new wiki. And we all thank
for it.
Personally I am giving a small contribution in this time
to OJ project. I took contact with Dante Fuster, asking some
modification to his plugin and opening an interesting discussion/test
on CAD->GIS->CAD transformations. Of coarse I always try to face
on my experience on work.
Actually Dante's plugin import some
impostant features from DXF but it is also able to export some importan
features, like CAD layers, text, height text and rotation text. The
export tool works fine, according to my recent tests on some
topopgraphic and geological maps.
Later on I would ask the help
and the opinion of Larry, Michael and London about some aspect on
GIS->CAD necessities and conversions: I belive that some nice
features of Skyjump, like "set color tool" could become useful in a CAD
structure on Openjump.
I will write in detail later on, right now I want to thank Dante and hi efforts
for this project
regards
Peppe

Hi all,
> Now what I am doing is ??? ...
Administration
tasks, migration to the new wiki, answering questions on the forum,
code commits, internationalization and much more !
I just want
to let you know that I have also written a coordinate transformation
library that is not yet complete but that Erwan (from OrbisGIS) would
like to complete and to integrate
(http://geosysin.iict.ch/irstv-trac/browser/branches/libs/cts).
Before that, I contacted Martin because I felt that we could merge our work at
some point.
We had some interesting discussions
(http://lists.osgeo.org/pipermail/proj4j/2010-January/date.html), but it will
not be easy to merge completely now (a bit late). Still, we did some steps
toward each other.
The
only particular interest I have to integrate my lib into OpenJUMP is
that it carefully handle french transformations. So, not much if I
consider the small number of french users :-(
But the main point for me will be to
define OpenJUMP interface to crs code so that it is easy to plug proj4j or cts.
Hey, it seems there will always be work for those who don't ask to be paid ;-)
