Hi, > Hi Michael, > > I hope to find time to test it. > But one thing is not clear: > Should the new OJ 1.4 version also works > with Java 1.5 or only with 1.6 ( Java 6_22)? I think i would be good if OJ 1.4 could still be java 1.5 compatible. Indeed, as far as I could check, it is, including Sextante plugin (I did not test it extensively, just launched it). Currently, if I start OJ 1.4s with a java 1.5 JVM, I get a single class version exception from PostGIS plugin
So, we can annouce that 1.4 is fully compatible with java 1.5, and that future versions will be only java 1.6 compatible (not sure we need 1.6 features, but all the developpers seem to work with java 1.6, and it i smore and more difficult to keep 1.5 compatibility) Michaël > uwe > > Am 03.11.2010 08:38, schrieb Michaël Michaud: >> Hi, >>> I will test it because I am not shure >>> which Java version I used. >> Thanks Uwe, >> >> Also, I recently intalled the 9.0-801 JDBC 3 driver which is needed for >> PostgreSQL 9.0 version. >> It should be compatible with older PostgreSQL versions, but I haven't >> done many tests until now. >> If you install it, can you report any problem as I would like to include >> it in the final OpenJUMP 1.4.0.2 release that we should release soon. >> >> Regards >> >> Michaël >>> Kindly regards >>> >>> Uwe >>> >>> >>> Am 03.11.2010 08:03, schrieb Michaël Michaud: >>>> Hi Uwe, >>>> >>>> The OpenJUMP1.4s distribution Stefan prepared includes several important >>>> plugins (Sextante, PostGISPlugIn...) >>>> >>>> This distribution seems java 1.5 compatible, except PostGISPlugIn >>>> (first, I thought that it was PirolCSV, but after I spent some time >>>> trying to repackage/recompile Pirol's plugin, I realized that I had the >>>> wrong plugin). >>>> Do you use some capabilities of java6 (jdbc4 ?) in PostGISPlugIn131a or >>>> would it be possible to recompile it easily with java5 ?
