Please note that this message will contain a full copy of the comment thread, including the initial issue submission, for this request, not just the latest update. Category: Miscellaneous Group: Next Release (example) Status: Open Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: Text export failiture to SVG and PDF Initial Comment: Labels exported as part of a SVG or PDF map (using either File -> "Save View As" or "Save image" from the Printer extension) are unreadable in Inkscape (SVG) or Adobe Reader (PDF). In Inkscape for example, the labels are treated as paths instead of text (see the attached screen shot). This is a major bug as many people use Inkscape or other vector editing programs to improve maps created in Open Jump. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Andrei (andreinacu1) Date: 2012-04-08 17:47 Message: Well, I've used Arial to label the features for my sample svg. The same thing happens when using Times New Roman. Even if it's a font issue, we're talking about the most widely used fonts. I know that gvSIG has the same issue with text export to pdf/svg, but I hope something could be done to fix this. P.S. Can someone correct my spelling error from the request summary: failiture -> failure ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: mentaer (mentaer) Date: 2012-04-08 17:20 Message: Mhm.. a difficult bug. This could be just a font selection issue. Maybe its worth to check what the print plugin from Intevation does. However, that text is treated as path has been happening to me also when I did load other documents in Inkscape that where not created with OJ. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=679909&aid=3515960&group_id=118054 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ For Developers, A Lot Can Happen In A Second.
