i guess i understood now that some methods like
 JUMPWorkbenchContext.getTask()
need to get the active internal frame via
 JUMPWorkbenchContext.activeInternalFrame()
which seems to fail when e.g.
 ViewSchemaPlugIn.EditSchemaFrame
is activated. it is the active internal frame, but not a TaskFrameProxy as
expected. we should fix taht sometime soon.

i simply refrained from using workbenchcontext and used the existing layer
reference instead.

you mean the FeatureInfo? no, it does not, but try for yourself.

when you select a row in 'View/Edit Attributes' from layer tree context menu,
which shows all attributes of all features of one layer then the geometries
flash shortly but are not actually visually selected in viewport.

maybe not designed like that.?
what actually works is changing the schema and having 'View/Edit Attributes'
open at the same time. this gets updated, although rarely assert without
critical implications happens in the background.
