Hi Landon, now that I have read your emails, I would recommend you to have a look at the Sextante library, and developed algorithms for that. I did this for example. Sextante is highly modular and has a wealth of algorithms already. Even more so, there exists a modeller to chain different algorithms. And - since this summer, there is also a Python adapter for QGIS (or is it a port?).
