Hi, My comments about the initial suggestion about organizing menus:
> b) I want to change a bit menu organization as I feel some tools are not in > the right place and the menu structure is a little "crowded" > FILE MENU: move "Copy view to clipboard" to "Save view as" submenu. Move > all "Save view as" tools from "File" to "View" Menu Save view to file is a file operation and I think that it could stay in the file menu. "Copy view to clipboard" is not a file operation but it is doing basically the same as "Save view into file" and therefore it should be found from the same menu. I would not like to see in in the submenu because I use it frequently in copying screen captures into documents but that's not so dangerous because we have excellent EZ Buttons. > VIEW MENU Move "Scale dispaly", "Scale toolbar" and "North Arrow" to a > submenu called "Decorations" OK > LAYER MENU Remove SLD tools (import export) as they are already on Style > submenu on layer tree It would be nice to be able to attach all frequently used functionalities to EZ Buttons. Layer tree submenus cannot be attached. On the other hand, SLD tools are not frequently used. What is worse is that Layer submenu is context aware. If there is only WMS layer in the tree the right click menu does not show SLD tools even as greyed. If they are removed from the main Layer menu users do not have any way to discover that such tools even exist. It is puzzling to have tools which are visible only if the OpenJUMP project has some certain set-up. I almost think that all possible functionalities should be found from the main menus but right click menus could offer short-cuts for power users. But it is true that menus get crowded. I wonder if it could it be possible to have a special beginner's mode with main menus containing all the tools that exist. > LAYER MENU Move Import ArcMap Style to Style submenu on layer tree > I want to do this modification before OJ 1.6 real. For example, when adjusting scale visibility setting on WMS server the scales does not match because of the calculation rules of WMS. With a simple multiplier they could be made to match. It would also allow adjustment by the pixel size of the computer screen. > e) For OJ 1.8 I will try to integrate Kosmo editing features (draw tangent, > parallel, remove last vertex while drawing, zoom wheel always available > while drawing) on OpenJUMP.
