Hi,

Oh yes, fine features but it is impossible to use them without any help. Could 
you add tooltip help strings for the buttons as a first aid?

Yes, this is quite esoteric without documentation.
Click on the button will insert
${view:-1} which you can replave by ${view:4326} which will be replaced
at runtime by
the geometry of the view with srid set as 4326.
==>
select * from roads where geom && ${view:-4326}
will get the roads inside the view

The same apply to "fence".
I recently added "selection" which will be replaced either by the
selected geometry
or the union of selected geometries.

Must change srid = -1 to 0 though (and try to remember the last used
srid during a session).
