Thanks for the replies.

There is no IGP in this scenario. LSP ingress and egress routers belong to
different ASs. Loopback connectivity is maintained by static routes. There are
l2circuits between these two routers. We don't want LDP session to go down in
order to NOT to notify customer ends (via OAM or etc.). So I think using BFD
for LDP would not be a wise solution.

Because the nature of the failures is indirect, we utilize BFD for static
routes to the loopbacks. The only solution that we can find for the moment is
about RSVP neighborship timers. We decrease keep-multiplier and hello-interval
values to have RSVP neighborship timeout faster.

We are assessing remote-interface-switch solution also. As far as I know we can
not utilise link-protection feature for transmit or receive LSPs (I couldn't
understand the reason behind this). So we rely on secondary standby paths. All
of these solutions tend to provide restoration based on RSVP neighborship
timers.

Basicaly the problem description is something like this: We are trying to
achieve fast restoration times without notifying some protocols about this
failure. I mean LDP. I know this description has some contradictions to itself
:)

We are still in test phases and there are many things to test. I will keep the
list informed.

Regards.

Sinan, have you tried enabling bfd for the igp session that is in turn
supporting the rsvp session? I've not tested personally but have indications
from developers that bfd will inform the igp of the link down, and this will in
turn cause the igp to start updating the TED, which in turn triggers control
plan action for mpls recovery (FRR, use of standby secondary, signal new lsp).

Not saying it will be sonet aps fast, but indications are this will help speed
up convergence in a situation such as yours.
