In the lab, I've done 1024 VRRP sessions, which were 256 vlans with 4 VRRP-groups per vlan. Additionally, I did the reverse (4 vlans of 256 VRRP groups) and that worked just fine too. The important thing here is "in the lab" - but it should be fine.
