Should just work. Ensure me0.0 is not defined anywhere in the interfaces {}
stanza.
i.e.:

unit 0 {
family ethernet-switching;

}
etc....
vlan {

route 0.0.0.0/0 next-hop somewhere-useful-on-your-LAN;
