Hello.

Did anyone tried to connect H3C switches to Juniper M-series
router ? I have 2 M7, one with 1GbE on chasis, one with
"750-010238 1x G/E SFP, 1000 BASE" module. Some years ago
I attempted to connect M7 to H3C S3100-52P (48 10/100 ports
and 4 SFP). I tried to use Juniper 740-013111 (rev 01) copper
GBIC and D-Link DGS-712 (any combination with 2 Juniper GBIC
and one D-Link, no difference was).

behavior: link is down/up from time to time (from several tens
of minutes to some hours). And link is absolutely stable if
use two D-Link DEM-210 (single mode fiber GBIC).

Several days ago I received H3C S5120-20P-SI/HP A5120-16G SI
(10/100/1000 copper ports and 4 SFP). I tried to repeat the experiment
with a copper port of H3C and Juniper's GBIC. Result remained the
same: copper link is unstable. :-(

However, copper link is stable between M7 (with a Juniper's miniGBIC)
and Nortel BayStack 470 switch with a Nortel's GBIC AA1419042-E5 module.

I can leave the fiber link between a H3C's switch and a Juniper's
router, but would appreciate the idea of switching to copper if it
possible.

Software version now:
M7: JUNOS 9.2R3.5
S5120-20P-SI/A5120-16G: Comware Software, Version 5.20, Release 1505P01
H3C S3100-52P: unknown, because was upgraded since then, not tested now.

Sergey
