It occurred to me to write something into those files to see what happened.
It turns out they are symbolic links to files that don't exist. I removed them both and now there are no more messages. I didn't see them because I was looking with the jupyterlab file browser. It's probably due to jupyterlab trying to read bad symbolic links.
