Dropping in here to say... we have a group of interns at Jupyter Cal Poly
working on a Prosemirror extension
<https://github.com/jupytercalpoly/jupyterlab-richtext-mode> for
JupyterLab. It's still under heavy development, but they're extension
already replaces markdown cells with Prosemirror editors for lightweight
rich text editing. I would expect the first release in two weeks.
