Hi Stef, It's certainly possible there could be a bug introduced in 6.1. However, this kind of thing strikes me as something related to the kernel and how it renders output. That said, I've been surprised before as to what the front-end does beyond just issuing the cell's contents to the kernel.
I would first ensure the kernel (ipython, ipykernel) and plotting (?) packages are the same as when things appeared to work previously (was that with Notebook 6.0.3?). Also, perhaps someone with some front-end expertise could chime in here - might something on the front-end have triggered this change in behavior? Thanks, Kevin.
