A bit of levity, here, but it's amazing how many
grown-ups have logic that is not too far from this:
Why are fire engines red?
Fire engines have 8 men and four wheels.
8 + 4 = 12.
There are twelve inches in a ruler.
Queen Mary was a ruler.
The Queen Mary sails the seas.
There are fish in the seas.
The fish have fins.
The Fins fought the Russians.
Fire engines are always rushin'.
The Russians were red.
Therefore, fire engines are painted red.
I looked up this bit of wisdom on the internet and read that it
dates back to the 1940's.
