This morning, the sky was clear. The temperature was in
the high fifties Fahrenheit or around 12 degrees Celsius and we
have had no rain in a couple of days.

The seventh or eighth of June, depending on the year, is
the earliest sunrise we get all year which is at ten minutes
past 6, here. Not that it matters, but tomorrow must be the day
as the official sunrise time was still 6:11.

No telling what the Summer will be like, but so far, the
mild days still happen once or twice a week and the bugs aren't
as bad as they sometimes are.

There are lots of birds including mourning doves so it
is quite a pleasant racket in the morning.

I heard a science program once in which a person was
talking about soundscapes and how different animals use various
parts of the sound spectrum to advertise their existence. Most
birds are rather high-pitched, probably in the range of 2 to 5
kilohertz but a few birds like ducks, crows, owls and doves go
more in to the mid-range spectrum near where our own voices
exist.

One morning I heard a couple of doves, the bells from
the OSU Library clock and a siren from some emergency vehicle
off in the distance. I thought, "What a combination."

This morning, it was pretty much all natural sounds
except for the Library chimes and an electric buzzer which warns
players on the tennis courts I pass by that the lights are about
to go off.

Nobody was even playing there this morning, but I have
heard matches going on at 7:15 on some days.
