Hi there! I haven't written as I wasn't sure the list was still active or not. I haven't heard any updates since the just-chat forum could go down. So I haven't written. Things are going pretty well here. I'll write of my adventure of the farmers' market, since it was a mixed emotional sort of day but a lot of fun overall. The kids and I took the bus to the farmers' market yesterday to pick up Maryo some apricot preserves as part of her birthday present. When we got there, we could hear the band performing for the week. It was a folsy local band that played a lot of celtic stuff. The jam sellers didn't have apricot and the fruit sellers sold me a pretty soft apricot we couldn't eat. When it was all done, we went to listen to the music since we had some time to kill before catching the bus back. When the singers stopped for a break, the man playing the guitar saw Caitlin and asked her if she had any requests. She said, "Twinkle, twinkle little star." He seemed surprised he knew it and Caitlin and Ian got to go on stage and sing with the band. It was pretty cute! Anyway, I hope all are well!

Subject: Greetings from Middle USA This list has fallen silent for quite a while so I thought I would at least stir the leaves on the ground a bit. This has been the first normal Summer we have had in Oklahoma for a couple of years. I am not sure if that is good or bad but we have not had withering heat and we haven't even had a real honest 100-degree day although we have hit 99 several times. Instead, we have horrible humidity. I'd take the heat any day over humidity but I'd really rather it just hurry up and be cool and relatively dry again. At least we have not had raging wild fires like we had the last two Summers. We'll probably get those in the Fall and Winter. The tornados we had in May are, unfortunately, also normal for the planes states but they were especially bad this year. This Summer, I can't walk to work because of seemingly endless street reconstruction on the OSU campus. This should be done in another month and I will be glad because that is my major exercise program as it amounts to about a 30-minute walk each way twice a day for 5 days a week. My father will be 89 in September and has good days and not so good days. About a month ago, he stood up, may have had a light-headed moment from low blood pressure, and fell down, almost breaking his hip. Fortunately, he didn't but has had to go physical therapy and that's been rough for all concerned. Right now, he can't drive but should resume driving soon. This makes him impatient and I can't blame him, but it will be good when things are more normal again. Well, that's all for now. Thank goodness it is the last week of July.
