Hi Martin This time, it’s me, in person, so to speak. Yes. things are quite good at the moment. My work is going great, and we are hopeful that I will be able to find full-time employment or at the very least part time utilising my skills which arE quite specialised.
Working where I currently am is my dream job. I’m working for the betterment of a group of children and today they showed their appreciation and I was totally gob-smacked. When I left the work place at around 14:15 UTC. I popped my head around the classroom door to say goodbye. I’ve just had a work review and it went great. But the point here is that when I said bye bye to the class as a whole, the kids stood up and applauded. Apparently they have already benefitted from my Braille transcription work and they wanted to say thanks. So that was how they did it. I couldn’t believe it. No, we were not affected by the floods, thankfully. We’re on quite high ground here, and not in the line of a river. We do have the River Tees not far away, but it’s at a much lower level than we are. In fact, we didn’t even get the battering from the wind which some of the country got. It was a bit blowy, but nothing more. I’m glad your father is over the last year. I’m not superstitious either, but it always gives me a feeling of great relief when Christmas and New Year are over. Thanks again for the good wishes. You deserve some good breaks for a change and it sounds like while things are not perfect, they are certainly better than they were for quite a while. Let's hope that 2014 brings more good things. My father was saying a few days ago that he was glad to see the end of 2013. He is rather analytical about life and not superstitious, but he said that a year ending in 13 can't be that good. Keep us advised. Oh, yes. The weather right here has been all over the map. We have not had the extreme cold of states to our North but it has been around zero Fahrenheit a couple of times and Sunday it was in the low seventies, about 22 Celsius and absolutely beautiful outside. I guess Teesside was not involved in all that flooding that England had a few weeks ago because I wondered about that. If you dodged that bullet, I am sure you are thankful.
