Hi people,

as we're gearing up to JVM Language Summit, I got around to tying all
loose ends, and am proudly releasing the next version, 0.3 of the
Dynalink library. A "What's New" page is here:
<https://github.com/szegedi/dynalink/wiki/What%27s-new-in-0.3> and the
general user's guide is here:
<https://github.com/szegedi/dynalink/wiki/User-Guide-0.3>. I think
you'll be pleased to see how far it has come since last summer's 0.2
release.

Another news is that I spent a day putting together a swanky new
landing page for the project, which you can see at
<http://szegedi.github.com/dynalink/>.

As you may have heard, I'm more recently employed by Oracle, with the
specific mandate of making the Java platform a welcoming environment
for non-Java languages. Dynalink's availability remains unchanged - it
continues to be an Open Source library under Apache 2.0 license.

Going well beyond a theoretic proof of concept by now, Dynalink is now
being integrated into projects within Oracle; a lot of feedback from
these has gone into it, bringing lots of optimizations and
functionality improvements. It's a great time for all other language
runtime developers to start looking into it; I think it's still far
from its final shape, so there's plenty of time for it to be informed
by your feedback.

I'm looking forward to meeting many of you during the JVM Language
Summit this year. This time, I didn't request a talk slot. For all its
improvements, Dynalink's principles are the same they were last year,
and there's a good video of my last year's summit talk explaining
those (linked from the new landing page). I didn't want to repeat
myself and take a slot away from other speakers that might have newer
things to say. I will, however, be in attendance and generally
available for discussion, and we can always set up an impromptu BoF
session too.

Attila.
