In general jxls tries to preserve column width to be the same as in the
template.
But possibly there are some situations where this does not work. Can you
share your template and point me onto a column you would like to preserve
width for?
Also as a workaround you can try to set column width with POI API in
template or (if this does not work) by post-processing Workbook.
