I tried the version you mentioned, 3.2 beta 4. I tried that version because the installed version 3.1 didn't work (i got the same error messages). But I got the installed version 3.1 working now: Under /opt/jxplorer are several shellscripts and when I installed JXplorer 3.1 it told me to use "/opt/jxplorer/JXplorer_LDAP_Browser". This script worked under SuSE Linux 10.0 and doesn't work now under SuSE Linux 10.1. But the script "/opt/jxplorer/jxplorer.sh" works, when I "cd" to the /opt/jxplorer directory. Otherwise I get another error message: > [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~>/opt/jxplorer/jxplorer.sh > starting JXplorer... > > Use "jxstart.sh console" if you want logging to the console > > ========================= > JXplorer failed to start > ========================= > Please ensure that you have appropriate "xhost" access to the machine you are > running this from. So I now got a working JXPlorer 3.1, when I start the "jxplorer.sh" from the "programm directory". > However the error you're reporting doesn't seem related to that > problem :-). Because other java programs work and JXplorer 3.1 as well (started with the "right" shellscript from the "right" directory) it seems that only the install script and the "normal" startscript have a problem (maybe with the used version (3.1.16) of bash?). I'm not such an expert to see why one script works and the other not. > Do other java programs work? Can you uninstall java and reinstall it? Yes and yes, I have one other java program that works and I have uninstalled/reinstalled java several times, I tried java 1.4.2 and now I'm using 1.5.0 shipped with OpenSuSE 10.1. And as I mentioned above JXplorer 3.1 is now working, when I use the other shellscript for startup. > - Chris Thomas ------------------------------------------------------- All the advantages of Linux Managed Hosting--Without the Cost and Risk!
