Hi Christopher,

I'm afraid this is more an Active Directory question than a JXplorer question: the problem seems to be that you need to logon (bind) to AD with valid credentials before you can change stuff, but I don't know what those credentials would look like for AD. Usually you have a manager dn that looks something like cn=admin,o=mycompany,c=us or something...

Check the Active Directory docs I guess, or maybe someone on the list can help?

    cheers,

Hey Chris,

I just downloaded the JXplorer today to help me create an active directory class that will be used for web and app development. I am having some troubles fully connecting to the Active Directory Server.

When using an anonymous security level I am able to view the high level overview the connection in the HTML view and TABLE editor view. The first piece of information at this page is: configurationNamingContext:.

I would like to be set a DirecotyrEntry with an LDAP connection string that will allow me to pass a userid and using a DirecotrySearcher get the entry for that user.

Here is the error I am getting in the JXplorer app when I try to connect:

javax.naming.NamingException: [LDAP: error code 1 - 00000000: LdapErr: DSID-0C0905FF, comment: In order to perform this operation a successful bind must be completed on the connection., data 0, vece

I have tried several combinations of using a username and PW but keep getting a simuliar error asking for a successful bind.

Any help would be great. Thanks!
