Hi Günther, Happy New Year to you also :-).
I'm still not sure what directory you're using! Are you using openldap (==slapd) or Novell's (NetIQ) eDirectory? I'm not a linux expert, so I'm not sure which directory Novell use on SUSE by default :-). JX does try to search for the root(s) DNs of a directory when it first connects, but config branches can be handled a bit differently by a directory; I'm not 100% sure how to access a cn=config branch... I've just tried it with a recent version of openldap by entering it as the basedn for connection without much luck. I *think* that in openldap you need to set up access to the cn=config branch separately; possibly the following link may help: http://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/24819/connect-to-ldap-with-cn-config-in-debian-squeeze - Chris On 31 December 2012 21:39, Günther J. <g...@gjn.priv.at> wrote: > Hello All, > > and a happy new year to all ;), > > Am Montag, 31.
