I have just spotted that there is a new Open Source Java based FAQ
application in development
The Enhydra people (who did InstantDB) are coming up with specs for "jFAQ"

                        What is jFAQ?

JFAQ is an Enhydra application for organizing and presenting
collections of short articles, such as those that would be in a
Frequently Asked Questions list. JFAQ can also store any other
information that you can organize into categories and discrete
     topics.

I am not sure whether there is any point in this application other than to
demonstrate
the Enhydra suite of java applicaiton server tools. On the other hand that
seems to
be how Jyve first started...
