Why does K-9-Mail have a SPAM button?

It doesn't have a filter so wouldn't DELETE be just as good?

Some people have server side learning options. So marking it as junk/spam is preferably.

One can also have different retention settings on spam/junk vs trash. I might keep things in trash for 30 days but spam/junk 7 days, or 1 day, or delete from the server immediately.

I also sync my sent folder, I do not sync my junk folder.
