Had anyone going a solution to this? I just had the same thing happen! I got up yesterday morning (4/26/14) and my comcast account inbox was almost entirely empty. I had nothing before the 25th. The trash and sent folders were still entirely intact though. The messages are still all there on the Comcast server.
I rebooted my phone with no help. I them emptied the tag folder and synced the account. I don't think it actually deleted the trash emails from the server though. I them tried the recreate data. Still nothing. I then deleted the account from my phone and recreated it, a few times. I still cannot load any emails prior to the 25th.
