Not a K-9 Mail problem, but I'm stumped where else to ask.

If I am at home, I cannot connect to my work e-mail server if connected via
WiFi (Verizon FiOS). (A CentOS-based server running Apache httpd, sendmail,
dovecot, etc. but, as you'll read below, I don't think it is relevant.) If
I turn off WiFi, and use the Verizon 4G service, I have no problem. If I go
elsewhere and connect via WiFi, no problem.

This is with K-9 Mail on a Galaxy Note II (stock OS, not rooted or
anything), but is not just K-9 Mail. I cannot open the web mail interface
on that same server using the web browser on the phone either. But I can
connect to any other server in the office, including a secondary web mail
server on the same physical network and IP subnet as the main mail server.

To add to the strangeness, other devices on my home WiFi network have no
problem accessing the mail server that the Galaxy Note II will not connect
to. This includes Apple Mail & Safari on an iPad and Thunderbird & multiple
web browsers on a MacBook Pro, and both Chrome and K-9 Mail on an Asus
Nexus 7 tablet. Since the home network is NAT'ed by the FiOS router, all
devices are connecting to the Internet using the same single public IP
address.

I have verified there are no outbound firewall rules on the FiOS router and
no relevant firewall rules on the office side either. Unfortunately, as far
as I can tell, Samsung disabled something on the Galaxy Note II so I cannot
use any of the traceroute tools I've found in the Play Store unless I root
the device. Not sure what other network troubleshooting tools I can use to
gather more clues.

And so I am stumped. Why can't this one device connect to this one server
when everything else on the same network has no problems?

Thanks in advance for your insights.
