I recently upgraded for the first time in a year, and I see the UI has been totally redone. Unfortunately there's some regressions in functionality from my point of view and I'm looking for help finding workarounds. I'm running IMAP with push, and deletion of local messages upon server deletion is turned off.
Here are the situations where I'm seeing different behavior: New message arrives: Both versions show notification with 1 new message. Message is deleted on server: 4.2: Removes notification and stops blinking LED 4.4+: Leaves notification and continues blinking LED 2nd message arrives on server: 4.2: Shows new notification with 1 new message. Unread count is 1. 4.4+: Shows notification with 2 new messages, including the one which is deleted on server. Unread count is 2. I find the 4.4+ behavior to be less desirable than the 4.2 behavior in these cases. Is there any way to get this behavior back on 4.4/4.8? Separately, it used to be that a grey-background message in the list view indicated that it was incompletely downloaded, because either it was over the size limit, or it hadn't been fetched yet. Now, a grey background is used for other purposes, and there does not seem to be any indication of an incomplete message. Is there any way to get that behavior back? -- -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the K-9 Mail Users List.
