I scanned back until May 1st in the emails here to see if it looked like anyone else has this issue.
It started a couple of months ago, when my Inbox on my GoDaddy IMAP account reached about 10K messages (I have no idea now if that has anything to do with this issue). After some fiddling around, I discovered that by setting all messages to 'Read' from my K9 client (something I did accidentally, and was accompanied with many groans), that for a while I could see all the most recent emails in my Inbox on the K9 client. Then, as various incoming emails were left unread, the issue cropped up again. As a rule, I don't read all my incoming emails as they show up, so even if keeping my Inbox all 'Read' would help, that certainly would not be preferred fix. I tried uninstalling and re-installing K9 multiple times through all this. No help. Same issue. About this time came the K9 update that starting draining my battery. That was essentially the last straw. I uninstalled K9 and starting using the built-in email app, but it has a number of limitations I can't live with, the most glaring one is that it doesn't support multiple "from" addresses. I own a domain, and have a catch-all Inbox, and am subscribed to many email lists with various email aliases of my domain ([email protected], [email protected], etc.). The built-in app, though, has never shown the issue with recent emails. Eventually, a new version of K9 was released to fix the battery drain issue, and I tried installing K9 again, and tried a different tack -- I moved ALL the emails from my Inbox to a temporary holding folder (which is not auto-synced with K9 and I've never opened from K9). As new emails came into my now-empty Inbox, I could see them all from K9 -- "cured", I thought. Not so fast,.. After a week or so, the problem has come back, and reading all the email in my Inbox does not cure it, either. Currently, I have 128 total messages in my Inbox, seven of them unread, and I can't see the two most recent emails in my Inbox on my K9 client. I DO get push notifications for new emails, though. If I select the notification from the pull-down area, depending on how many emails have come in, I sometimes see some of them, or if it is just one, and K9 tries to open it, I get a blank screen with an error message that says that the message was not found. I only have the one GoDaddy IMAP account set up with K9. I read Gmail using the native Gmail app. Anyone have any ideas?
