Beside the fact that the displayed size before and after the compression is the same (so useless) it blocks the whole device. My accounts are utilizing approx 400 MB and the compression takes 2 or 3 mins, sometimes it happens more than once the day and during this time the device is not usable as it seems to hang. I could reproduce this behaviour on 4 different devices running 4 different versions of Android. Please change this in the next future that it does not automatically compresses the DB.
