[SOLVED] Exported account settings. Cleaned up settings in file. Reimported
cloned settings. Deleted old account. Renamed.

Search my other question on "clone" account settings.

My own opinion is that K-9 failed to clean some of the imported settings.
I exported the settings, deleted the account, cleansed the settings,
reimported (same name for account) and ... old settings (for example folder
names) where still there ... The only way has been to:

Stop K-9 connections to your server (change network to never)
Access to the GMAIL email account using a browser.
Move any needed mails in folders you would like to destroy to wherever
convinient
Move to Settings, then labels. Remove unneeded labels. Mark the folders you
wish to access throug IMAP (such as Starred, Sent Mail, Drafts, All Mail,
Spam, Trash), and unmark any other ::::: what out! if you have localized
versions of those you have to use in K-9 the localized versions ...

Then
a) in K-9, export settings (lets say account is called "WORLD") to a file.
b) use an editor to cleanse and adapt settings (text, xml) contained in the
file; change Draft to [Gmail]/Draft ; same for Starred, Sent Mail, All
Mail, Spam, Trash
c) in K-9, import settings (it will create a new fully clean account;
nothing is lost if you use IMAP). New account will be called "WORLD (1)"
d) in K-9, delete account "WORLD"
e) in K-9, rename -if you wish- "WORLD (1)" to "WORLD"

I am not fully sure if the cleansing in GMAIL is needed or really not. I
have the impression that it was one of the elements of the solution....

Enjoy, ... ;-)
