Hey All, I use k9mail, which is set to poll my IMAP server every 10 minutes (top-level folders only), on my MotoX (2013) running Android 4.4.4.
I had a weird experience today when I was working in an area with weak, or no, mobile signal, and I went in and out of this area for an hour at a time once or twice. The only way I noticed anything was going on was that the phone got pretty warm, and was burning an unusual amount of battery. When I fired up OS Monitor to see what was happening, I saw that k9mail app was running at a constant CPU level, using about 50% of my phone's CPU capacity. When I went to the app itself, I found that it appeared to have gotten hung in polling mode, searching for the IMAP server I guess. Once I manually killed the app process, everything went back to normal---even when I re-fired up k9mail. Has anyone else ever seen this? If so, any clues as to how to prevent it from happening in the future? many thanks, john -- -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the K-9 Mail Users List.
