I'm a long time user of K-9 mail, and currently using it to manage

I've been running 5.103 for some time, and have recently upgraded to
5.104, but I would really like to move across from the Alpha release to
a Stable release (e.g. V5.004).
HOWEVER, if I export my setting from 5.104, uninstall 5.104 and then
install 5.004, I am unable to import my settings into 5.004.
I really, really don't want to have to recreate all my settings by hand
(especially given how many email accounts I have).
Does anybody know of any way to get my settings into 5.004 (before I go
over to the dark side of Aqua Mail...)
It seems from my experiences and what I've read that going back N
versions will often wind up with an incompatible export file.
I have two suggestions and you won't like either of them.
1) Alter the file by hand
a) Export the file from 5.104 and copy it to a computer.
b) Install 5.004 and set up one POP3 account. Export the settings from
it to a file.
c) Manually alter the 5.104 file to match the format of the 5.004 file.
d) Import the altered file
e) Profit (hopefully)
2) Wait... just wait until the stable release catches up to the beta
release you were running. Then you should be able to install the stable
release over the existing beta release and get back on auto-stable releases.
For 1, it might just be as simple as fudging the version number in the
export file. I seem to remember that being a work around in the past.
But you may get an imperfect import.
