I get this problem on IMAP some times too. It appears that the message
hasn't been recognized by the server that the message has moved. So you
have to refresh so the server realizes the message is now in the trash
and then try to move it again.
I think I touch the circular 2 arrow icon and after it has refreshed, I
then find the email in the trash can move it.
