Hi captainchaos, There have been several k9 users in the past few weeks or is it months who have called upon the developers to introduce an account name feature for the very reason that you have mentioned but so far nothing has been implemented, one reason was a supposed lack of available screen space to add the account name, which I for one cannot see as an issue on my smartphone or tablet maybe smaller screen mobiles may present a different challenge.
The colour coding does go someway to fix this issue but when you have seven active accounts as I have then I'm afraid colourising the accounts do not help. Google and their Gmail email client app has just been totally overhauled & revamped maybe that has the facility of visibly naming your accounts!! Peter -- Sent from my Android tablet, with K-9 Mail. Please excuse my brevity.
