Hi, I think of myself a competent user but I remain generally ignorant to the technical workings behind my front-end usage. As a consequence, please forgive me if my questions' answers could be easily interpolated had I a better understanding of my device's inner workings and of K9's operation.
My basic question is this: from a security perspective, how are my fetch/send credentials (e.g. username and password; server addresses; ports &c.) stored within K9? How are they affected by a factory reset and how secure is that method for specifically precluding a subsequent user from accessing it? To preclude flattering myself, let's say I am an average user and not worth the cost/benefit of a really complex attack. I am aware that the android factory reset is extremely lacking, and moreover that it is easy to read deleted but not overwritten files on flash memory; I am aware there are methods for dumping junk data on the flash memory &c. Of course I realize none of that is K9's remit and the onus is on the user to counter the device manufacturer and android's lapses in those domains. I won't trouble you with the specifics but this isn't a purely theoretical question, my credentials pass through dozens of android devices a year and I often don't have the time to do anything more than a factory reset.
