Full behavior... K9 is configured to auto expand "INBOX". When new messages arrive to multiple folders, including Inbox, I get a single notification. I select the k9 notification and k9 opens to Inbox displaying all new messages, whether those folders are part of the unified inbox or not. Back out to folders view, back into Inbox and only Inbox messages are there.
Full disclosure: I made major mail server changes (new server, sendmail > postfix, procmail > maildrop). But this seems unrelated.
