This thread http://androidforums.com/threads/email-which-apps-keep-it-private.935578/#post-7051506 on androidforums raises questions about the storage and use of personal data by Android email clients. The OP originally gave some FUD about K-9 (he or she apparently read a privacy statement from some commercial product called K9 Web Protection); that has been at least partially corrected. But it would be helpful for users and potential users of K-9 if there were an appropriate statement somewhere on the project web page and if a K-9 developer could post to the androidforums thread with an authoritative statement about the storage and use of personal information. (I'm a little perplexed that people who use a cloud-based email client are dismayed that it has personal information, or that they think a privacy statement makes something secure, but ...)
