With IMAP, removing a message from a mailbox is really a two-step
process. The first is to mark it as deleted, the second is to
"expunge".
The setting:
- [account] settings
- fetching mail
- erase deleted messages on server
controls if/how the K9 client does expunges. Set it to "immediately"
or "when polling" to have it have the server expunge deleted
messages.
The option above that, "when i delete a message" effects whether the
K9 client will even cause the messages to be marked as "deleted" on
the server. Ones use-case (including how comfortable you feel about
your control of things on a small screen) will effect how you set
these two options.
