I have an earlier version smartphone, Samsung Android Galaxy Stratosphere. I've done everything that Google says to do to setup my gmail account on K-9. I have enabled the Google IMAP setting. Also I told Google to allow "less secure" apps, in case K-9 is a less secure app. My K-9 version is 4.804, which has a few extra fetch options such as "Auto-detect IMAP namespace" and a slightly different setup options than listed on Google, but the important stuff is set to their stated list. Incoming test always says "Error incorrect Username or Password". After setting everything up and still getting this error message, is it possible that K-9 has a restricted maximum password length that is triggering this error when fetching mail?
My current password is 20 characters long, numbers and letters only, no symbols, spaces or punctuation. This same password will log me in with no problems on the web. Thanks for your thoughts!
