When you pull your messages via POP do you leave them on the server (too)? If so, chat with your mail hosting provider -- they should be able to switch your mail account protocol without a data loss. Then, when you create your K-9 IMAP account, all the messages should be available (on the server) for syncing. If the messages are only on your mobile device (in K-9) check to see if K-9 now offers message exporting (long press on the account for options). It didn't previously in POP (and still doesn't in IMAP as far as I can tell), and I don't use POP so can't check if that feature was added. Even if you can export them from your POP account you likely won't be able to import them into your IMAP account, regardless of client. Assuming the messages are only on your mobile device, a slightly different approach is to put the existing K-9 POP account into an "archived" state and set up a new IMAP account in K-9. Checking just now it looks like you might be able to set up parallel IMAP and POP accounts, so could simply switch things on your provider's side and then set up a new IMAP account in K-9. The K-9 POP account would continue to exist and hold your old messages. It's possible that K-9 does some credentials duplication checking that I didn't run into so you might need to muck with things on the POP account a little for this to work. -- -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the K-9 Mail Users List.
