I have had this issue since starting to use K9 several years ago. I thought it would go away with updates and while not that big of a deal, it's getting annoying.
This ONLY happens with my AOL.com account and it's setup as IMAP like all of my other accounts. NOT GOOD - If I select "Mark All As Read" the next time it polls the messages, it correctly shows the number of new messages since the "Mark As Read" but those messages are NO LONGER markes as read.. However, GOOD - If I just quickly scroll through the messages using the back or forward button... as if I was actually reading them.. They stay in the READ state from there on out. It's like the "Mark As Read" isn't doing the same thing as actually reading the message. Again, it's IMAP, I have several others that work fine, it's only this account that acts like this.
