So 5.108 is an unstable version. It's not the latest unstable but it's fairly close. 5.109 is the latest stable.
5.010 is the latest stable. As I've said though, I believe the issue is related to the way we work out whether a notification should be created looking at the time and not the date. But exactly why this happens I'm not sure. I've never experienced it myself which makes it hard to investigate. On POP it's more likely because we can't sync whether an email's been read by the server. So old mail might get resynced as new mail. I don't necessarily think it's impossible on IMAP though.
