This statement makes no sense. You are sending messages from an @gmail.com address, so you most certainly "have gmail". You may be using outlook as a mail client to access your gmail account. Since you are using multiple email clients (outlook and k-9) to access one gmail account, it makes the most sense to do so using IMAP.
