Last week I added a Fourth email account to K-9 on my Android phone running Nougat and I get an error message for both Fetching and Sending emails. The error message said to check out this link " *https://support.google.com/mail/answer/7126229*" I chose to try the Troubleshooting steps and "*Allow less secure apps: If you don't use 2-Step Verification, you might need to allow less secure apps to access your account.*" I turned *OFF* this setting and everything worked all of a sudden.
My question/concern is, why did I have to do this for this Gmail account only? All four (4) of my accounts are Gmail and this is the only one I needed to do this. And, how much do I need to worry about the security of my email account by turning this setting *OFF*? And, last but not least, K-9 has been around a long time and I know it's well respected in the Android community. Why isn't it a trusted Android email account such as Outlook? -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "K-9 Mail" group.
