I use thunderbird and K-9 to read my email.
Some time back, K-9 started using the IMAP "EXAMINE" command, which is
identical to the "SELECT" command, but leaves the folder in an Read/Only
state. Unfortunately, this confuses some servers (particularly Zimbra)
such that they report the folder as Read-Only to other clients, which are
not using "EXAMINE". See old thread for details:

https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=749529

Is there any way to prevent K-9 from using "EXAMINE"?
(I.E. to revert to the earlier behavior of always using "SELECT"?)

If not, how would folks feel about adding a configuration option for
prevent use of the IMAP "EXAMINE" command?
