Yes, or, afair, ‘system’.  To access to /data/data/com.fsck.k9 — root or K-9’s 
user.

Ramses, don’t forget to amend the ownership of transferred files, as ids of 
K-9’s user at source and destination machines most likely don’t coincide.

There actually might be some software, that allows you to spare few commands, 
when doing it.  Oandbackup [0], maybe?  In any case, that’s not K-9-specific, 
so it makes sense to move the discussion to a generic *droid mailing list / 
newsgroup.
