Not certain exactly what you mean by "took permission away," so here's some 
general advice (from memory, the exact locations for these settings might 
require some searching):

- Ensure IMAP is enabled in Gmail settings.
- There is a setting in the general Google account security page called 
something like "allow less secure apps" which may need to be turned on.
- If you use MFA (google authenticator, TOTP, U2F, yubikey, SMS, etc.), you 
will need to generate an app-specific password and use that rather than your 
real account password.

Hopefully that can get you pointed in the right direction.
