Perhaps the browser's search-and-url bar isn't sure if it expects search terms 
or an URL and therefore doesn't tell the keyboard what it died expect while k9 
knows it wants an URL and therefore requests one causing the keyboard to get 
helpful.
Unfortunately every single cellphone programmer tries to make this cellphone 
helpful in a different way.
